The Company
FIREFLY® is a division of TBA Protective Technologies Ltd. Since 1871, TBA has amassed a wealth of practical wisdom in the successful research, development, manufacture and distribution of high-performance specialist materials and products for a diverse range of industrial requirements. The specialism across the business is in areas of protection of people and property from the risks of heat, flame and smoke.
This expertise is fortified by our outstanding manufacturing facility in Rochdale, where we have recently invested considerably in new state-of-the-art machinery and equipment. This has included expanding our ability to fabricate products from the materials which we manufacture, allowing us to ensure that our dedication to quality is maintained through to the end product.
In addition to our role as a specialist manufacturer, FIREFLY® has an excellent reputation for the quality of technical support and guidance provided to our customers. Many of our projects require very specific detailing and solutions to ensure their compliance with safety requirements and we ensure we are best placed to deliver this through CAD drawings, site visits, installer training and detailed practical advice.
Our People
As a very long-established manufacturer of high-performance textiles and materials, the success of our business is built upon the skill levels and experience of our employees. We ensure that we consistently provide a safe, productive work environment that both reflects and facilitates the high quality of our work.
We recognise and nurture the skills of our staff through training and opportunities to help them grow in current roles, and then to progress to where they want to be in the future. This is evidenced by the number of colleagues attaining their IFE qualifications in passive fire protection and the number of current staff who commenced their careers here as apprentices. For this investment, we have been rewarded with a strong team of highly skilled workers throughout the company in all departments.
Many of our staff members have long service records, resulting in an accumulation of knowledge and experience which has helped to develop the fervent culture of learning and innovation first established by the pioneering company founders, the Turner Brothers, in 1871.
